Specific content in this volume includes: beginning and ending sounds, read short vowel word lists, short stories followed by questions to show comprehension, two spelling words to learn each week, mathematics—counting by ones, tens, fives, reading numbers, addition and subtraction facts to nine, shapes, pennies and nickels, patterns, practice manuscript handwriting, readiness for geography skills, draw and write about it. Counting to 10 was never so fun as counting 10 segments of a caterpillar, unless it's counting the different kinds of cookies in a jar. Future first graders will do both with this book.

The practice cards for Daily Summer Activities, Moving from Kindergarten to First Grade are for upper and lower case letters with matching pictures, and numbers to 30. The plentiful color and black & white illustrations in this book are cute and clever, with just enough detail to keep this age group intrigued. Even the answer keys are colorful.

All 144 pages, plus eight flash card pages (printed on durable card stock), are perforated for easy removal.
