This teaching resource helps students in grades 2-3 develop key vocabulary and word skills and encourages them to become stronger readers and writers. This book of reproducibles uses high-interest articles, taken from the award-winning Weekly Reader magazines, as resources for key language arts, vocabulary, and word skills.

Each 2-page lesson features an engaging Weekly Reader magazine article on one page, so that students can read the vocabulary words in context. The second page is vocabulary skills practice. Throughout the book there are 3 levels of practice for every skill, with articles that provide the context for vocabulary words identified as A, B, or C lessons to indicate below-level, on-level, or challenging reading. Students can work independently, in small groups, or as a class.
